NanoTex protective impregnation for footwear

Innovative protective impregnation for shoes is a specially created product to protect all kinds of shoes. Strongly hydrophobicizes protected shoes, thanks to which rainwater or mud does not penetrate inside them. Effectively impregnates and provides comprehensive protection against mud, salt, stains and water, and prevents re-soiling. The impregnation is environmentally friendly, does not smell and gives the shoes a "fresh" look. Moreover, it does not weaken the intensity of the color of shoes or lubricate them, as is the case with wax impregnations.

It also works great as an impregnation for nubuck and suede shoes. Its systematic use will ensure lasting protection of our shoes, which - regardless of weather conditions - will remain clean and dry.

Application – for what materials:

  • Suede
  • nubuck
  • Natural unvarnished leather (e.g. full-grain, oiled – after testing)
  • Natural fabrics (e.g. canvas, cotton)
  • Synthetic fabrics (e.g. polyester, nylon, Cordura)
  • Mixed materials (fabric/leather combinations)
  • Synthetic leather / "eco-leather" - recommended test in an inconspicuous area before full application

Efficiency

  • 100 ml is approximately enough for about 5 pairs of shoes (consumption depends on the absorbency of the material and the size of the footwear surface).
  • Practical tip: the more absorbent the material (e.g. light nubuck/suede), the greater the wear and tear and the greater the benefit of a thin second layer after the initial application of the first.

How to use:

  • Remember, at the beginning of work, always make a test and check if the effect is desired!
  • The shoe prepared for impregnation must be clean and dry.
  • Spray the surface of the footwear evenly and then wipe the footwear with a cloth or sponge.

Features:

  • long-lasting protection against water, salt and stains
  • Does not change the appearance of footwear - does not grease
  • extends the life of impregnated footwear
  • does not close the pores of the material - the material continues to "breathe"
  • easy and safe to use
  • water preparation, safe for the environment

Waterproofing your shoes is important for several reasons:

  • Moisture protection: Impregnated shoes are more resistant to water penetration. The ingredients of the impregnation create a nano-thin layer on the surface of the shoe that prevents water from seeping through. Thanks to this, your feet remain dry even on rainy or snowy days.
  • Protection against dirt: The impregnation makes it difficult for dirt, dust and other contaminants to penetrate the shoe material. This makes it easier to keep them clean and dirt can be easily wiped off.
  • Extending the life of your shoes: Waterproofing your shoes can increase their durability. Protection against moisture and dirt minimizes the risk of damage such as cracks or deformation of the material.
  • Continuity of footwear breathability: our waterproofing products have air-permeable properties, which means that they prevent water from penetrating, but at the same time allow the feet to breathe. It is important to avoid excessive sweating and unpleasant odors.
  • To sum up, impregnating shoes is important because it protects them against moisture and dirt, increases their durability and ensures greater wearing comfort. Regular waterproofing will be beneficial for your shoes and extend their life.

Question (FAQ) Answer (suggests product use)
Does waterproofing change the color of nubuck? How can I avoid discoloration? For light nubuck, always test in an inconspicuous area and then apply thinly and evenly from the correct distance. NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabrics It is best to apply it to clean and dry shoes and spread it with a cloth, which reduces the risk of streaks and "stains" from excess.
Will shoe polish damage the texture of suede? Can I use creams? Don't use polishes, creams, or waxes on suede and nubuck, as they can stick together the pile, harden the material, and damage the texture. Instead, choose a spray, such as NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabrics, which protects without greasing and without "smoothing" the suede.
Should I waterproof shoes with a membrane (e.g., Gore-Tex)? Will breathability be compromised? Yes, it is worth impregnating the outer layer, because a wet upper reduces comfort and water vapor wicking. NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabrics Apply thinly and evenly to the outer material of the upper to reduce soaking and maintain the performance of the shoe.
How often should you waterproof your hiking boots? The simplest rule is to observe: when the water stops beading on the surface, it's time to renew the protection. NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabrics It is worth repeating after intensive mud/snow outings, after cleaning and before the autumn/winter season.
Which impregnation should I choose if I want quick and safe protection? If you want easy use and protection in everyday conditions (rain, mud, salt), choose a convenient spray and stick to the correct application. NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabrics combines quick application with a real hydrophobic barrier, which in practice means less soaking and easier cleaning.
Can suede crack from drying out? How can I avoid this after waterproofing? Cracking of suede is most often caused by overheating during drying or by applying too much and "flooding" the material. NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabrics Apply thinly, do not allow the upper to get wet and dry only at room temperature, away from a radiator.
How to properly clean suede and nubuck before waterproofing? First, remove dust and dry dirt with a suede brush or eraser, and remove greasy stains "dry" (e.g. with powder/talcum powder) and brush gently. Only after completely drying, apply NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabricsso that the protective layer binds evenly and does not leave streaks.
Eco-leather is peeling and cracking – does impregnation make sense? Impregnation will not “undo” peeling, but it can limit the penetration of moisture and dirt, which slows down further degradation during everyday use. NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabrics use after testing in an inconspicuous place and avoid aggressive cleaning agents (alcohols, solvents).
How to dry shoes after getting wet or cleaning? Do not use a heater, dryer, or sun as this may cause the material to harden, crack, or warp. Dry the shoes in an airy environment at room temperature (e.g., with paper inside) before wearing them. NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabricsfor the protection to function properly.
Where should I apply the waterproofing – only to the upper or also to the seams? Waterproof the entire upper, but pay special attention to the seams, material joints, tongue area and folds, as this is where water most often "attracts". NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabrics Apply evenly from the appropriate distance, then spread to enhance protection in sensitive areas.
Should I apply waterproofing to wet or dry shoes? In practice, for nubuck, suede and fabrics, it is safest to impregnate shoes when they are clean and dry to avoid uneven penetration and discoloration. NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabrics works best when the material is completely dry and the preparation is applied thinly and evenly.
Why do shoes get wet after 15-20 minutes despite waterproofing? The most common causes are too little product, uneven coverage, lack of a second layer on absorbent materials, or structural leaks (seams/joints). In such cases, apply NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabrics again (thin layer), and in case of highly absorbent uppers, add a second layer after pre-drying the first one.
Is it possible to restore nubuck/suede after damage and restore the color? Partly like this: cleaning + color restorer + brushing, and finally impregnation to maintain the effect. After restoring, use NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabricsto limit the re-entry of water and dirt into the refreshed material.
Can trekking shoes be washed in the washing machine? Usually not, because washing machines destroy glues and seams, and can damage membranes, which can cause shoes to soak through more quickly. Instead, hand wash, dry at room temperature, and store away. NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabricsto restore hydrophobicity after cleaning.
Should I waterproof my shoes immediately after purchase or before first use? It is best to protect your shoes before you go out for the first time – this extends the life of the material and makes cleaning them easier. NanoTex shoe impregnation: nubuck, suede, leather, fabrics Apply to clean, dry footwear, test in an inconspicuous area and leave to dry completely for lasting protection from the start.
