SPECIALCHEM SANDSTONE BASIC - hydrophobic impregnation is a new generation preparation for sandstone that effectively protects and hydrophobizes various types of stones, such as sandstone, river stone, limestone or field stone. Thanks to a special, reinforced formula, the impregnation creates a protective membrane on the surface and penetrates the material up to several millimeters, which effectively protects the surface against the penetration of water and dirt.

This product is perfect for securing architectural elements such as facade slabs, terrace slabs or fencing elements. It can also be used to successfully protect architectural details.

It strengthens and protects the entire structure of sandstones, does not change the appearance of the material and reduces the risk of moss growth. Moreover, it does not close the pores of the material - the material continues to "breathe". The product is resistant to negative weather conditions, including UV radiation.

10-15m²/1L. Consumption depends on the application technique and the absorbability of the impregnated stone - do not overdose the impregnation.

How to use: 

  • For best results, the surface to be impregnated should be clean and dry. All types of dirt, such as algae, moss and stains from various types of liquids, must first be removed. Elements and surfaces that will not be impregnated, especially glass, and are in the immediate vicinity should be protected, e.g. with a protective foil.
  • Remember to apply a small amount of impregnation so that "puddles" do not form. The excess that has not been absorbed should be spread with a brush or wiped off. Apply the impregnation without dilution using a garden sprinkler, brush or roller. After application, leave to dry.
  • Apply the preparation evenly to the surface by spraying in the form of a mist, only one or two layers using the wet-on-wet technique. Remember to protect the impregnated surface from precipitation for approximately 3 hours after application. Do not use the product during rain and use it at temperatures of 5-25 degrees Celsius.

The protected sandstone should not come into contact with water for about 5 hours.
