Preparation NANO-BAU NANOWOOD UNI it's a new generation impregnation, developed in cooperation with The Department of Wooden Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Turin, intended for securing and impregnation raw wood and/ or stained, without leaving a shiny varnished coating.
NANO-BAU NANOWOOD UNI Impregnation for natural wood developed in cooperation with The Department of Wooden Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Turin. Its main purpose is protection of raw wood and/ or stained, without leaving a shiny varnished coating. Thanks to innovative ingredients and nanoparticles, the impregnation works in a two-stage manner, combining with the wood surface, which leads to water beading effect and protection against dirt i dullness.
Silane content and action hydrophobic extends the natural colour of the wood and its durability, especially in spring and autumn when temperatures fluctuate below 0°C.

NANO-BAU NANOWOOD UNI Impregnation for natural wood can slightly change the color of the wood and its effect on most types of wood is 3 to 5 years old. In places with intensive use, it may be necessary to re-apply the impregnation. Thanks to the protection of the surface with NANOWOOD, the wood becomes very easy to clean, and most dirt is removed by rainfall. For better results, periodic cleaning with water under pressure is recommended.
Use of preparations NANO-BAU NANOWOOD significantly prolongs the aesthetics and durability of impregnated surfaces, ideal for:

| Question | Odpowiedź |
| What is the best way to impregnate a log house, facade and other raw wood elements outside? | To protect log houses, facades, gazebos, fences or garden furniture, you can use a colorless impregnation NANO-BAU NANOWOOD UNI, which protects the wood against water, dirt, graying and weather conditions, without creating a varnish coating. |
| What types of wood is NANOWOOD UNI suitable for? | This product is designed for most popular wood species (e.g., pine, spruce, oak, larch, beech, etc.), both untreated and stained. It works well on log homes, facades, fences, gazebos, garden furniture, sculptures, and other wooden products. |
| Is NANOWOOD UNI colorless and does it change the color of the wood? | The impregnation is colorless and does not create a glossy, varnish-like coating. It can only darken slightly shade of the wood, highlighting the grain. Therefore, it is recommended to perform a small test in an inconspicuous area. |
| Does the wood “breathe” after impregnation? | Yes. NANOWOOD UNI creates a hydrophobic protection that limits the absorption of water and dirt, but does not close the pores of the wood – allowing it to maintain its vapor permeability and natural movement. |
| Is the impregnation suitable for both indoor and outdoor use? | This product was developed primarily for outdoor use, especially in areas exposed to rain, UV radiation, and dirt. It can also be used indoors (e.g., in gazebos and summer houses), provided the room is well-ventilated during application and drying. |
| How to prepare wood before impregnation with NANOWOOD UNI? | The surface should be clean, dry, dust-free, and degreased. Remove any algae, moss, lichens, stains, and remnants of old, non-absorbent coatings (paints, varnishes). If necessary, lightly sand the wood and remove dust. Clean infected areas beforehand and apply an appropriate fungicide. |
| Can wet wood be impregnated? | No. The wood should be dry – too much moisture limits the penetration of the impregnation and reduces the effectiveness of the protection. It's best to impregnate after the structure has dried and during stable weather conditions. |
| How to apply NANOWOOD UNI? | The impregnation is applied without dilution brush, roller, low-pressure spray (HVLP), or garden sprinkler. It is also possible to immerse the elements in the preparation. |
| How many layers should I apply? | In typical applications it is sufficient one even layer NANOWOOD UNI. For highly absorbent surfaces, you can add the product "freshly" to even out absorption. |
| What is the efficiency of NANOWOOD UNI impregnation? | The average yield is approx. 7–10 m² from 1 liter depending on the absorbency and condition of the wood (raw, planed, sanded). |
| How long does it take for the impregnation to dry and after what time can it rain? | After application, the surface should be protected from precipitation for approx. 4 hoursDuring this time, freshly impregnated wood should not be exposed to rain. Full curing occurs after several to several dozen hours, depending on temperature and airflow. |
| How long does the protective effect last? | Under typical outdoor conditions, the impregnation efficiency is approx. 3–5 years oldIn areas exposed to strong sunlight or subject to very intensive use (e.g. handrails, steps), local refreshment of the coating may be necessary. |
| Does the impregnation protect against graying, algae and blue stain? | NANOWOOD UNI limits water and dirt absorption, helping to protect wood from algae growth, blue stain, and graying caused by moisture and UV radiation. However, it is not a "curing" agent – existing discoloration and lichen must first be removed mechanically or with a suitable cleaning agent. |
| Does the impregnation remove existing mold, mildew or blue stain? | No. The impregnation works. prophylactically – protects against re-moisturization and dirt penetration. Before use, thoroughly clean the wood and, if necessary, apply a specialized fungicide according to its instructions. |
| How often should I renew the impregnation? | It's recommended to check the surface condition every 2–3 years. If water stops beading on the wood and seeps in more quickly, it's worth refreshing the NANOWOOD UNI impregnation on the entire surface or locally in the most exposed areas. |
| Can NANOWOOD UNI be used on previously stained wood? | Yes, you can apply the sealer to stained wood, as long as the stain is well bonded to the substrate and doesn't form a tight, glossy coating. The surface should be clean, dry, and matte. It's always a good idea to test it on a small area. |
| Is the impregnation suitable for old, previously painted boards? | NANOWOOD UNI works best on absorbent surfaces. Old varnishes, paints, or thick glazes should be removed (mechanically or chemically), and the wood thoroughly cleaned. The product will not penetrate remnants of non-absorbent coatings and may perform less well. |
| Once dry, is it safe for children and pets? | Once the treated surface has fully dried and aired out, household use (skin contact, touching railings, staying in a treated log cabin, etc.) is typical for this type of product. However, during application and drying, ensure good ventilation, wear gloves, and keep children and pets away from freshly treated surfaces. |
| In what weather conditions is it best to impregnate wood? | The optimal operating temperature is approx. +5°C to +40°CDo not impregnate in rain, fog, very high air humidity or in full, strong sunlight heating the surface. |
| Can NANOWOOD UNI be diluted? | There is no need to dilute – the product is ready to use and should be used in concentrated form, without adding water or solvents. |
| Is the impregnation suitable for garden furniture, fences and gazebos? | Yes. NANOWOOD UNI is designed for garden furniture, fences, barriers, gazebos, and other garden architecture made of raw or stained wood – it helps maintain an aesthetic appearance and reduces dirt penetration. |
| Can I apply glaze, oil or paint after impregnation? | If an additional decorative coating is planned, it's best to plan the sequence of work at the design stage. NANOWOOD UNI leaves a hydrophobic layer that may limit the adhesion of some paints or oils. Before applying another product, test it on a small area and follow the topcoat manufacturer's recommendations. |
